Hundreds of local and out-of-state residents came to see Senator Hillary Clinton speak in Wilmington, NC on a beautiful evening by the historic riverfront area in front of the Cape Fear River and the USS North Carolina. Before Clinton spoke, Senator Julia Boseman, who represents the New Hanover County district and is also a out politician, warmed up the crowd. Clinton dressed in Carolina blue not showing signs of wear, kicked off her hour and a half speech with, "Just another night in paradise in Wilmington, North Carolina!" to cheers from the loving crowd.

The post Hillary Clinton Wants America To Be America Again, With Service and Opportunity appeared first on Gay Online Magazine | Out Impact.

Clinton dressed in Carolina blue not showing signs of wear, kicked off her hour and a half speech with, “Just another night in paradise in Wilmington, North Carolina!” to cheers from the loving crowd.

“Because you’re going to be able to make your decisions on May 6th as to what kind of country we want, and what kind of leader we need,” encouraged the North Carolina crowd to vote. She told the crowd she wants to be held accountable, and to rebuilt accountability in the White House. “This is truly about transforming our country and making sure our government once again does what it must do to regenerate that spirit of America that is truly our birthright,” Clinton said to why she is running to be the next President of the United States.

“We have throughout history, giving hope to the hopeless, and voice to the voiceless…and I believe with all my heart we can do it together,” she encouraged the attentive crowd.

Clinton touched on wanting to have a Declaration of Energy Independence from those we are dependent on from oil-producing countries; our relationship with China as well as her experience of standing up to China, ending No Child Left Behind and ending the Bush war on science and human development. Clinton encouraged scientific research for global warming, and Hillary vowed to sign a bill that would include ethical stem cell research in America.

Clinton also covered topics such as universal health care, getting the troops home safe in Iraq, including taking care of the troops after their return home. Clinton offered praise for the troops, but stressed how the political mission has failed. Clinton spoke passionately about being optimistic and excited about the future. “All we have to do is have to start acting like Americans again. That’s all we have to do. We are the people who can solve any problem, we are the people who can face any challenge and seize any opportunity.”

Clinton touched on wanting to make college affordable, as well as wanting to have public service as a option for forgiving college debt. Clinton wants to encourage the creative input of the youth again in the economy, as well as wanting a green revolution in North Carolina and everywhere.

Clinton closed out her rally by challenging her opponent, Senator Barack Obama, to a no moderator, old-fashioned style debate. “I am very very regretful that my opponent will not agree to a debate in North Carolina, because I think these issues are worth debating, and, you know, the other day he turned down the debate that I agreed to here in North Carolina. 20,000 people had already emailed in for tickets there was that much interest. So, he said no, he wouldn’t do it, and I know his supporters say, well they did like the last debate in Philadelphia, the questions were kind of mean and they were sort of tough,” she said. “You know, I’ve got to say, tough questions in a debate is nothing like the tough decisions you’ve got to make in the White House.”

“I think that this state deserves a debate. So here’s what I’m offering. How about this — no moderators, just the two of us on a stage for 90 minutes asking each other questions, talking about whatever’s on our minds, just like the Lincoln-Douglas debates, and I think, you know, we could even do it on the back of a flatbed truck, doesn’t even have to be in some fancy studio somewhere. You can tell I’m having so much fun in this campaign.”
