Exes & Ohs: The Complete First Season

Exes & Ohs: The Complete First Season

Exes and Ohs season 1 dvd cover

Exes & Ohs, the lesbian answer to Sex In The City with more realism than The L Word-lite, is one of the rare shows I’ve seen that is the most relatable to the lesbian community. Dubbed as a “dramedy” about lesbians in half-hour episodes, featuring a likable cast of characters that isn’t out of touch from the lesbian audience. Set in Seattle, the series follow the lives of five lesbian friends including the center of the cast, Jennifer Butler (played by the creator of Exes & Ohs, Michelle Paradise), the documentary filmmaker with social awkwardness since her last relationship, demonstrates Sex In The City/Carrie Bradshaw-like quirks with explanations directly to the audience of the classic lesbian situations like “Fake It: It’s Impressive” rule – if you don’t know about what your love interest is discussing, fake your way through it.

Joshua Klipp – Won’t Stop Now

Joshua Klipp – Won’t Stop Now

Joshua Klipp casual (credit: Josh Klipp)

Joshua Klipp got on my radar by complete accident. I found Josh via MySpace, and his looks caught my eye that I had to give it a listen. Josh is a trans singer and he has made musical history on his self released EP Patience in 2006 by singing in both his pre- and post-transition voices on the R&B track “Little Girl.” Josh has been catching plenty of eyes and ears by being featured on the Tara Banks Show and The L Word and there’s no stopping Josh now. Josh is originally from the Midwest and currently lives in California where he works with opely gay producer, Kristopher Cloud.

Sophia Wallace: Strong Connection

Sophia Wallace: Strong Connection

Sophia Wallace: Strong Connection

We discovered the lovely, talented and full-of-heart photographer Sophia Wallace with her project, Bois and Dykes, which examines the concept of ‘feminine masculinity’ by visually telling the stories of people who live within a spectrum of identities ranging from dyke and butch, to tomboy, aggressive, and transgender. Flipping through the photos online, I knew I had to connect with her. Sophia candidly gives us her time and we are blown away with her talent and impact she is making with her photography and her heart.
