Lee Ann Womack – Call Me Crazy

Lee Ann Womack – Call Me Crazy

Call Me Crazy Lee Ann Womack
It’s hard to believe that Lee Ann Womack has put out so many albums, but her latest album (#7), Call Me Crazy, could be considered her best yet. Teaming up with legendary Nashville producer, Tony Brown, this album is solid and reminds me why I like country music. Lee Ann sings from the heart and showcases her powerful, vulnerable, joyful and sometimes sad vocals – this is a record that will resonate with the public as being real music with real experiences.

Delta – Delta Goodrem

Delta – Delta Goodrem

Delta Goodrem

When I say the name Delta Goodrem, you may not have any clue as to who she is; however, I sincerely think this time next year, the American music industry will definitely know who she is. Delta is the next big thing out of Australia and she has recently released her third studio album for the first time here in the United States. The self-titled album is her third #1 album in Australia and after conquering several overseas music charts, she has invaded the States.

FEMINA POTENS VISUAL ART OPENING RECEPTION: Bust ED

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – SEPTEMBER 14, 2008 – Femina Potens presents “Bust ED” artwork around breast cancer awareness and breast health. Please allow us to tease, tantalize, and captivate you with our dirty pillows. “Bust ED” celebrates the lovely and erotic nature of the bosom, while reminding everyone of the way breast cancer affects our lives. 2.4 million women living in the U.S. have been diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer. An estimated 182,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in American women during 2008 (ACS 2008). Artists Annie Sprinkle, Elizabeth Stevens, Madison Young, Jennifer Clary, Laura Drugal, Mary Ellen Scherel, and Talia Green all address this prevalent issue with their art. Join us to pay tribute to the mighty and healthy breast for the “Bust ED” opening reception October 9, 2008 at 7pm – 10pm. During the reception we will be hosting a live body casting of breast cancer survivors, a “Mamorial”, for artist Mary Ellen Scherl. Show runs October 9 through October 26, 2008.

Bust ED is sponsored by Abigail productions www.abigailproductions.com

Lauren Ianuzzi: ‘It’s really all about making people smile, dance, and rock out’

Lauren Ianuzzi: ‘It’s really all about making people smile, dance, and rock out’

We recently caught up with the too cute and too fun Lauren Ianuzzi to discuss her love of drag queens, where her music is taking her and a sneak peak at her upcoming Christmas single!

Lauren Ianuzzi

BW: I read your blog on your website (fun!) – I’m sure the drag queens appreciate the shout out when you were talking about your teaser performance at the Cattle Call drag competition at Therapy – how does the drag community embrace you and your music? You know you’re definitely a remix away from having “A Funk I Won’t Forget” to be a
dance single!

Lauren Ianuzzi: Well, last night (9/22), I did another teaser performance in the middle of the “Psycho Babble” drag show at Therapy, and that one was even more fun! The hilarious, saucy drag queens Eve Starr and Mimi Imfurst brought me up onstage before my performance, and we were all trading barbs and doing a bunch of silly banter. The audience loved it, and the casual introduction to me and my persona in the context of the drag community was really important, because I’m not just any old singer…I have quite a theatrical vibe! So, I guess I’d say that so far they like me just fine. Also, my
onstage looks are not far from those of a drag queen: spandex, glitter all
over my face and body, too-short dresses, big hair…it’s almost uncanny,
really. As for the dance remix of “Funk,” I’d be all over that!
