In the early morning hours of July 17, two gay men celebrating a birthday in downtown Wilmington, NC were attacked as they walked down a street running alongside the Cape Fear River.

Hundreds of local and out-of-state residents came to see Senator Hillary Clinton speak in Wilmington, NC on a beautiful evening by the historic riverfront area in front of the Cape Fear River and the USS North Carolina. Before Clinton spoke, Senator Julia Boseman, who represents the New Hanover County district and is also a out politician, warmed up the crowd. Clinton dressed in Carolina blue not showing signs of wear, kicked off her hour and a half speech with, “Just another night in paradise in Wilmington, North Carolina!” to cheers from the loving crowd.
