It’s apparent how respected Ferron is within the lesbian music community. Boulder is an album produced by Bitch and full of special lesbian appearances, by Ani DiFranco, JD Samson, and the Indigo Girls to name a few. Collaborating with such high profile artists definitely worked in Ferron’s advantage to create exposure of her music to younger generations that are more familiar with Bitch and JD Sampson. Ferron’s music is a calmed down, older and folkier version of Bitch, perhaps this is what Bitch would like to become in her later years after getting all of her riot grrl angst out.

Thirteen million albums sold and ten solo top ten hits, Britain’s most accomplished R&B-pop performer, the outstanding Craig David, doesn’t need to prove anything. However, Craig has one hot summer release, Trust Me, that has feel-good pop/dance beats without any feeling of being preconceived.

Fronted by twin sisters, Kaleena and Kayleigh Goldsworthy, The Scarlet Ending are indy acoustic rock with heartfelt, honest lyrics and gorgeous intricate harmonies that are extremely enjoyable. Their latest release, Cries & Whispers, is rolling with a solid, smooth rocking acoustic sound that is full of energy and retrospective of relationships. There is nothing tired out by this group of talented artists.

We recently had a chance to have an amazing interview with the very diverse and multi-talented Jade Elektra. Jade has been seen in To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar, Party Girl, and Jane Doe and now she tells us about her latest efforts in finding “America’s Next Showgirl” in Showgirl 101.

Gorgeous, enchanting, seductive, elegant, and classy. These are words that I would describe Loverly, and also embody the wonderfully talented jazz vocalist Cassandra Wilson. Tantalizing, rhythmically driven jazz collection of standards, this is her first Blue Note album since Thunderbird in 2006, where she explored a multilayered sonic approach jazz piloted by pop producer T Bone Burnett.

I think of you when I is a one-night-only program of diverse performances by, for, and about queer women from the disciplines of performance art, theater, dance, film and video. These short pieces span the breadth and explore the depth of queer experience in both subtle and overt ways. Some artists are drag kings, some are lesbian icons, some are superheroes, some are two-dimensional, some are not women. The night will be emceed by Murray Hill and Dred.
