On May 9th, the San Francisco Media Awards will need the support of hundreds of volunteers to make the event a huge success!

GLAAD’s success depends on the passion and commitment of our volunteers. Sign up as a GLAAD volunteer and come be a part of one of the biggest nights of the LGBT community. Becoming a GLAAD volunteer is as easy as 1 – 2 -3! How to steps are below:

Use the link above and click on “Become a GLAAD volunteer.”

Provide your contact information, and you become officially a GLAAD volunteer with access to the Volunteer Information Center (VIC). This online feature gives you an easy way to keep in touch with GLAAD’s volunteer program. You can schedule yourself for posted Media Awards shifts, check your schedule, receive messages, and much more: anytime and from any internet connected computer.

GLAAD volunteers will receive email notices when volunteer opportunities arise in their area.

Bambi Weavil is Out Impact, Inc.’s Founder and President since June 2007. Bambi is a graduate from the class of 2004 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Professional Writing. She is a freelance writer and published poet in her free time currently residing out of Brooklyn, New York. Bambi is proud of being an activist and humanitarian, leader in the GLBT community, artist, music enthusiast and animal‐lover.
