The Mo Diaries is described by film maker Tony Wilkins as a Mocumentary or a mock documentary infusing both scripted and non-scripted personalities into the film to tell the story of relationships. Why we choose the relationships that we choose. Why we stay in those relationships. And why some people are successful in those relationships while others float from relationship to relationship.

It features both actors and real people to tell their story. Tony decided to examine a myriad of relationships from Gay to straight, bisexual to transgender with an eye towards why were drawn into certain relationships. In addiction it focuses on views of timely topics such as gay marriage, politics and religion and H.I.V. and A.I.D.S.
