		<description>Oh and the painting of her in the hospital with the fetus floating above her... misscarriage. She wanted the child in spite of warnings that she couldn&#039;t have it safely. She did have 2 abortions that are known of, one before the misscarriage and one after.</description>

The sheet coving the womans face is symbolizing her mother&#039;s passing, she died while Kahlo was working on the painting. Also, yes to a previous comment, she indeed was not bedridden for most of her life. She was in pain for most of her life however.</description>
