Washington DC – As the New Year is welcomed and the country gears up to inaugurate a new president, Yoga Rave 2009 on Jan 10 presents a new way to party in Washington DC. The event, hosted by the Art of Living Foundation, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington in Columbia Heights. Yoga Rave 2009 helps start the New Year right with a big boost of positive energy and food to replenish the mind, body and heart. The event features:

  • Yoga exercises and breathing techniques
  • Guided meditation
  • Live Music, Dancing and Chanting
  • Delicious vegetarian food—healthy for the body and the planet.
  • Smoke, drug and alcohol free environment

Yoga Rave 2009 is the “change we need” for fun, energizing and healthful partying with a high of contented self-awareness and no hangover. Individuals and organizations are invited to participate in the event. Sponsorship opportunities are available and free follow-up on-site meditation workshops can also be arranged for interested organizations.

The Art of Living Foundation is a 501(c)(3) educational and humanitarian organization, with a global mission of a “crime-free, stress-free and violence-free world.” Over 20 million people worldwide have benefited from its popular course that teaches yogic breathing and Sudarshana Kriya. In the US, the foundation runs trauma-relief camps for disaster-hit areas (such as Hurricane Katrina), programs for returning war veterans, prisoner reform programs, stress elimination programs for corporations and working adults and programs that are helping turn youth in inner cities away from gang violence, drugs and alcohol to the path of service.
