The enchanting and heartbreaking story of a woman forced to confront her own identity. Emma and her husband Page wrestle with the pain and confusion of her leaving him for a woman, when it seems that she discovers her true sexuality. Emma is faced with the reality of having to choose between the husband she knows she loves and the new woman in her life. But when Page uncovers a secret, the characters are forced to confront the truth and what it really means to be in love.

The line-up is set for the second annual GAYFEST NYC, a festival of new gay-themed plays, which will run at the TBG Arts Center, May 14-June 15. The festival kicked off with Emmy Award winner Leslie Jordan’s solo show My Trip Down the Pink Carpet on April 14 at New World Stages. The show, was directed by David Galligan, will benefit the Harvey Milk High School.
The five featured new plays in the festival will include Edward the King (May 14-24) by David Brendan Hopes, directed by Sidney J. Burgoyne, a re-interpretation of the Edward II-Piers Gaveston love story; Spill the Wine (May 27-June 1) by Brian Dykstra, directed by Margarett Perry, about a woman with a fatal disease who leaves her husband and finds herself attracted to a woman; Jumping Blind (June 4-14) by Philip Gerson, a World War II romance between an English resistance fighter and a wounded German soldier; The Wrath of Aphrodite (May 23-June 1) by Tim O’Leary, directed by Martin Casella, a radical re-imaging of the Greek tragedy; and Hollywood Reunion (June 6-15), an autobiographical comedy written by and starring Steve Hayes.

The second annual GAYFEST NYC, the country’s premier festival of new gay-themed plays, will be presented May 14 – June 15, 2008 at the TBG Arts Center, 312 West 36th Street, New York City. The five-week event presents professional Off-Broadway productions of new works by LGBT authors or spotlighting gay issues. Five fully-staged professional productions featuring Actors’ Equity Association casts.
