Recently, on my dryboard erase wall when thinking about the current climate in American politics, I wrote “Women your voice is more than VALID, it is necessary.“
On November 10-11, 2012, there will be a special event in Los Angeles, California called “Sister Giant: New Consciousness. New Politics” presented by author, speaker and activist, Marianne Williamson (Facebook, Twitter), who has been a long-time supporter of equality, calling all Americans who are interested in starting a new, non-violent political conversation.
Marianne wrote in a recent article for the Huffington Post:
“What we need to do is start a new conversation. Albert Einstein said we would not solve the problems of the world from the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. We need more than a new politics; what we need is a new worldview. We need a fundamentally different bottom line. We need to shift from economics as the organizing principle of human civilization, to humanitarian values as the organizing principle of human civilization. And women, en masse, should be saying so.”
If you’re concerned about the over-influence of moneyed interests on American democracy, the underrepresentation of women in our political leadership, and if you have a transformational view of the world, or considering your own voice in leadership, please join Marianne Williamson and others for a revolutionary weekend.
In addition, if you are in New York City, join us tomorrow, October 21st, as we proudly support Sister Giant and Marianne Williamson. Marianne will be speaking at Middle Collegiate Church (112 Second Avenue (between 6th and 7th)) at 2p to 4p as Marianne speaks in New York City to give a special preview of Sister Giant. Marianne’s New York City talk will center on the intersecting points of consciousness, politics and power. Marianne will be introduced by the amazing spiritual speaker and author, Gabrielle Bernstein. Gabrielle also recently interviewed Marianne that you can read at Gabrielle’s website about Sister Giant that we urge you to check out.
