NEW YORK -  Cheryl King Productions at Stage Left Studio is now accepting submissions for the 4th Annual Left Out Festival, which will take place April 15-18 and April 22-24, 2010. We are looking particularly for one-person shows—solo plays, cabaret acts, stand-up comedy, monologues, and spoken word, but two-person plays with minimal set requirements will also be considered. “Gay” does not have to be the entire theme of the piece, but, as it is a “gay festival”, we are specifically inviting artists to submit material with gay themes. We wish to celebrate same spirit of fun, open celebration of gay performance art that we presented in our first festival in 2007.

Deadline for submissions is February 12, 2010. The jury process will be concluded by March 1, 2010. There are NO FEES associated with this festival. There are also no monies paid to the performers. Instead, all net proceeds are split equally between Bailey House, providers of housing and support to people living with HIV and AIDS, and GMHC.

In addition to marketing assistance, the Left Out Festival provides a lighting and sound technician, one tech rehearsal and one dress rehearsal. The Left Out Festival is a venue for shows in their final stages of development. We invite reviewers, and wish to present completed shows, not early works in progress. Please keep this in mind. Performers will be offered two industry comps per performance.

Submission forms can be accessed at http://www.stageleftstudio.net. Click on the festivals tab, then the Left Out Festival 2010 page. Mail applications to:
