Utilizing the latest technology to create, produce and record all of his own original material, TimPermanent is breaking the rules of recording, producing and distributing his music. TimPermanent is a one man band is making the best of what he’s got using his iMac, microphone and a midi-keyboard – performing Avant-Pop that has been compared to Bjork and Tool.

His debut recording, Record, has been released in an unconventional format – a USB Jump Drive. The tiny, stainless steel drive contains 2 music videos and 14 songs, all written, produced, performed and recorded by the artist himself.

The music is catchy, refreshing, raw and pop futuristic (think the lead singer of Maroon 5 meets Bjork meets Timbaland/JT), perfect for this bold release.  “Beat, Bounce, Street” has some rock/hip hop, even a hint of salsa in the track with the sentiment being you should live for today instead of tomorrow so it won’t be wasted away.  “Thanx B 2″ has a disco-hip hop sound showing gratitude for good and harsh lessons daily.  “What Used to Be Me” is a catchy reflection of walking away from “how I used to flow.”  I love the synthetics “What I Got”, and is  good parallel of the album message: honor your flow and don’t waste your life away.

A more than solid album, I am looking forward to his next release!  Pick up Record at his website, or if you feel technology inclined, get it on ITunes or CDBaby.
