Plushgun is the brainchild of Daniel Ingala and grew out of the cramped confines of his overpriced and undersized bedroom in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A Net success, once he posted “Just Polite” on his MySpace, the project quickly took off with songs featured in the web-TV series “We Need Girlfriends” and rising to #1 in the Alternative Rock Channel on Ourstage.com.

This is their first full-length album, Pins & Panzers, and this is one album that promises and delivers on bringing the party with their sound. This album is full of addicted fun, pop/rock that is a balance of Coldplay meets Imogen Heap dancing with The Postal Service.

Their music video, “Just Impolite”, features Juno Temple, Brittany Snow and Shiloh Fernandez – not bad, not bad at all.  “Dancing In A Minefield” is the perfect rebellion/angst song and accepting today at face value:  “we’ll love for just today.” “How We Roll” is the ultimate ‘look how far I’ve come’ song, and if you need to love any song for it’s songwriting, enjoy the Johnny Cash references in “Just Impolite.”

The brilliant “A Crush To Pass The Time” is perfect for the radio and spot on.  “Let Me Kiss You Now (And I’ll Fade You Away)” is cute pop-acoustic, while “Union Pool” is wicked fun electro/trance/rock.  “14 Candles” is electroacoustic love, while “Without A Light” and “An Aria” take me to new levels of appreciation of electro-pop music that I thought were already high.

Plushgun’s songs are nostalgic, poppy, danceable and surprisingly deep. Whether they are about chasing dying romances, high school anxiety, or angst-riddled anthems for a lost generation, Plushgun tackles these themes with unabashed catchiness in an electrolicious soundscape. They are without question, deserving of heavy rotation and I found myself constantly hitting ‘play all.’ There’s something extremely authentic about this band without being too much – they are life soundtrack-worthy and continue to raise the standard of amazing pop music.
