After her critically-acclaimed performance in Dreamgirls, as well as her recent appearance in this summer’s smash hit, Sex and the City, Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson makes her long-awaited foray into the music scene with “Spotlight,” her official first single from her self-titled debut album, set for release on September 30th on Arista Records.

“Spotlight” addresses insecurities within a relationship, and Hudson shines with her amazing powerhouse vocals.  There are few artists on the musical landscape that can do it all, as well as Hudson can with ease.  There are also some hot remixes of “Spotlight” that should please club goers by Johnny Vicious, Moto Blanco, Quentin Harris and D Hotwell & Fidelity.  Jennifer’s taking the spotlight all to herself no matter what genre she steps into, and if this is any sign to how her full debut album will be, then we are in for a smash success.

She did do a great job in those movies. i didn’t think that i’d like her new song, it’s not the style of song i generally like, but i listened to it, and i do. especially since so many couples are like that. but also because the remixes are catchy. :)
