21 year-old superstar Hilary Duff already has a best of collection?  Yes, it’s true – she’s gone from teen sensation to mature artist and she’s showing some potential musical growth.  The two new songs, “Reach Out” and “Holiday” stand out among the songs that have built Hilary’s career.  “Reach Out” samples the 1989 Depeche Mode classic “Personal Jesus” as well as pairing Hilary’s edgy vocals with guest rapper, Prophet.  “Reach Out” is fun and I think points in a great new direction for Hilary.

I’m not as big a fan of “Holiday”, because I think it tries to be too much, but it’s a song she co-wrote with her sister, Hilary and produced by Ryan “Alias” Tedder from One Republic.

The Best Of Hilary Duff includes early hits like “So Yesterday,” which was heavily played on radio rotation and the song I most associate with Hilary up to this point. “Why Not” and a remix of “Come Clean,” both from 2003’s Metamorphosis are also included.  A fun new remix of “Wake Up” from Most Wanted , as well as the pop/dance song “With Love”, “Play With Fire” a remix of “Strange” and more is included on this career retrospective, with the promise of this is just the beginning of Hilary’s shining pop star and popularity.

What’s most impressive about Hilary is she’s making the most of every opportunity and is an outspoken activist.  She co-starred in John Cusack’s War, Inc., as well as branching out in business with her own clothing line (Stuff by Hilary Duff) and her new fragrance, “Wrapped With Love.”

Hilary is outspoken against animal cruelty and against homophobia, her charity work includes Blessings in a Backpack, an organization she started with USA Harvest founder Stan Curtis, which helps inner city schoolchildren get the nutrition they need.
