Bridget McManus, comedian and AfterEllen.com vlogger, gave a performance at Durham’s club Steel Blue on August 22nd that had the audience laughing so hard they were gasping for air. McManus took the stage to applause while she shouted “Fuck Yeah!” punctuated with high kicks over her head.
During the initial part of the set, Bridget McManus unleashed hilarious new material that involved jokes about her new relationship. The mother of McManus’ girlfriend was in the audience, but that didn’t pose a threat to McManus who thanked her for being supportive of her girlfriend and all the things they did (which were listed in scandalous detail).
If McManus is referred to as the lesbian Sarah Silverman, it is because of her frank references to sexuality and sexual activities. Lets just say there isn’t much Bridget McManus won’t do for a Red Lobster cheddar biscuit.
After some light heckling from the crowd McManus performed her standards on how men never truly believe she’s a lesbian and quips about her family. After her set, McManus accompanied fellow comedians Poppy Champlin and Sandra Valls on one of their musical numbers as a bumping and grinding back-up dancer. While waiting for technical difficulties to be solved McManus had a bit of a “wardrobe malfunction” when she removed her bra when it was questioned whether or not the goods were real. A quick feel by Sandra Valls confirmed their authenticity.
The entire show was filled with hilarity and I know that I am looking forward to seeing more of Bridget McManus in the future. Coming up for Bridget McManus is her own big show entitled “Hold Still I’m Almost Done” December 4th and before that McManus is playing host to the Power Up’s Premier Gala November 9th.
