Dianne Reeves, the Grammy award-winning premier jazz vocalist who is the only singer to win the vocal category for three consecutive recordings in any singing category, returns with a new album on April 15th on Blue Note Records, When You Know. Reeves mixes up this album with classic standards as well as new material and this is her first since performing the award-winning soundtrack to George Clooney’s 2005 film, Good Night, Good Luck.

I started catching the buzz thanks to my friend Larry Flick’s praise on OutQ In The Morning on Sirius OutQ, and then I was able to get my hands on it as well and now I know why this is one hot release! The five songs are top quality and I have been listening to this one SAMPLER all day long. There’s something about this artist from Nefyn, Wales that should have the same buzz Amy Winehouse got when she came on the scene, except Duffy, has a hell of a lot more talent.

Eighteen years ago, Talana Kreeger was brutally sexually assaulted and murdered in a vicious hate crime here. The painful memory of that tragic event has been held in silence in this Coastal community — until now.

Community members gathered into a packed sanctuary at St. Jude’s Metropolitan Community Church on Feb. 22 to remember and celebrate Kreeger’s life. They came to express the need to answer the questions of why Talana Kreeger was murdered and why the community had been silent about such a brutal and passionate crime of hate.
