Later she continued her art education while living in Colorado Springs where she discovered the versatility and colors of acrylic paint. Favorite subjects of Katrina’s are musicians, coastal scenes and animals. She attempts to capture the way light falls on her subjects, as well as the movement and energy that subject displays. While primarily a realistic painter, Katrina sees her style becoming looser and more abstract. She has won awards for her work and her commissioned portraits are in private collections throughout the nation. Katrina teaches art to children and adults and shows her work at several galleries and shops in Brunswick County. For more information, contact Katrina at mail@kmfairbank.com or at (910) 540-4695.

8. Mary Mooneyhan is a Texan native who moved to Wilmington over a decade ago. Government employee by day, she enjoys photography mainly as a hobby. However, her penchant for photography has greatly encouraged her style and she is now on the never-ending search for the “ultimate” camera. Mary loves nature and being outdoors and feels that has inspired her the most. You can reach her via email at marymoo836@yahoo.com
9. Christie Perry has lived in Wilmington since 1993. She started her career in painting in 1998, has no formal training, and continues (as we all do) to learn every day. Starting out in the decorative arts, Christie has created a variety of murals, faux finishes, and painted furniture. She also began sketching homes and scenes in charcoal, and later, learning figure drawing. Perry began painting with acrylics on canvas around 2000, and this remains what she enjoys the most - layers, color, texture. Right now, she is creating large paintings, tearing paper, and doing more figure drawing. A new series of abstract paintings will be ready to show in the spring. Christie works in her home/studio at the corner of 21st Street and Metts Avenue. The studio is open to the public - call for hours, appointment, or more information
