It’s hard to believe that Lee Ann Womack has put out so many albums, but her latest album (#7), Call Me Crazy, could be considered her best yet.  Teaming up with legendary Nashville producer, Tony Brown, this album is solid and reminds me why I like country music.  Lee Ann sings from the heart and showcases her powerful, vulnerable, joyful and sometimes sad vocals - this is a record that will resonate with the public as being real music with real experiences.

Co-writing four of the twelve tracks, Womack also shows she’s a strong songwriter.  “Either Way” is one of the best and honest ‘go or stay, it’s not going to change anything’ breakup songs and one of the highlights of Call Me Crazy.

Womack has some great collaborators on Call Me Crazy including Keith Urban in “The Bees” and the legendary George Strait on “Everything But.”  “The Bees” has a clock in/clock out feel which many can relate to both in their employment and in their personal lives.  “Everything But” could end up being a CMA winner for Straight and Womack next year because their voices fit together so naturally.

“The Story of My Life” is a special song to Womack, and may be considered in the class of “I Hope You Dance.”  “I Found It In You” could be the pick me up song of this year in country music if put out as a single - we could all use the uplift.

A solid country album by Womack - fans will be happy and new fans such as myself have a new appreciation for Womack’s music.
